In 2021, according to Calgary Herald, Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health Deena Hinshaw received a bonus of $229,911, increasing her annual salary to nearly $600,000.

While many Albertans lost their jobs, their family businesses, and their livelihoods at the hands of COVID-19 lockdowns and mandates, Deena Hinshaw was earning 23-times more than the $500 weekly cheque the government gave Canadians to survive.

Hinshaw proved time and time again that she was woefully unprepared for the pandemic while failing to provide evidence and research to support her positions that kept Albertans locked down for nearly two years.

Being bad at your job does not warrant a $230,000 bonus. Deena Hinshaw should not only resign, but she also needs to pay back the taxpayers who funded her bonus.
